"TOPICS 3" CLINICAL PHASES, CEMENTATION

The cementation of ZX abutments must be performed with conventional cement as the cementation any other type of metal-ceramic structure  and simultaneously with the cementation of the bridge to the natural abutment elements.
We suggest a glass ionomer cement reinforced with resins.
For the final cementation we suggest to have the master model.

After having correctly prepared the operating field (cleansing and drying of the abutment teeth with the use of surgical aspiration and cotton rolls) and the handwork to be cemented as well as the ZX abutment/s and after mixing the material according to the manufacturer's directions (a) place a thin cement film in the bridge corresponding to the housing of the only ZX abutment/s (b);
place the abutment in the right position (referring to the guidance marks) without applying heavy pressure (c);
now take the bridge and position it on the master model verifying that it fits correctly at the ends (d);
so the excess cement can come out properly (e);
the bridge must be removed immediately after and then it is possible to fill with cement the other natural elements to be cemented (f) according to the usual methods;
finally the bridge is placed in the mouth verifying the maintaining of the position of the framework and the dry field, replacing the cotton rolls if necessary (g);
if you want to make the antagonist arch press on the cotton rolls, make sure that the pressure of the rolls is only in correspondence to the natural abutments and not in the ZX abutment/s area/s (h).
After the hardening time the excess of cement around the natural abutments as well as the ZX abutment/s can be removed.
