The vestibular part is marked for making notches, once the abutment has been completed an occlusal and a vestibular notch will be made to avoid the rotation inside the element, and especially to provide guidance to the clinic when he will have to insert the abutment in the cement filled cast.

The processing begins with the disc, avoiding applying excessive pressure, a simple rotation is sufficient to cut the ZX abutment (in all the processing phases we recommend to use an aspirator and a mask to avoid inhaling the process powder).

After cutting make the vestibular notch to recognise its position at any time during the processing.

During the processing phase the support base of the abutment must be protected, it absolutely cannot be processed since even the slightest abrasion could compromise the final result, the support base cannot be treated in any way because no treatment and no material could bring it back to the original state obtained with the stamping.

The final result is not given by the technique but by the material and precisely by the compactness of the support base that does not create any irritation to the mucosa and it is completely resistant to chemical substances and oral fluids.

The preparation and the processing of the chamfer absolutely cannot exceed the equator of the ZX abutment, the parte below the equator must be intact as per casting

Proceeding with the processing, the walls are connected with the base to avoid the creation of sub-squares, because of the ZX stump treated with a classic stump where the casting shall be adjusted. No lacquer is applied on the stump, its processing will be on the natural stump.

This preparation phase could create some scratches that shall be removed afterwards with a rubber.
Now make the vestibular facet with a micro-disk, then make the occlusal facet.
The last passage is to remove hard edges and scratches with the rubber shall be first use type for ceramics.
Never touch the part below the equator.

Verify the exact position, this operation is made easier by the perfect stability felt when resting the abutment on the model, in correspondence with the mark left by the stamping, then fix the abutment on the model with wax, use very hot positioning wax which will form a perimeter ring to the abutment without any infiltration on the support surface.

Remove the excess wax to avoid any interference with the wax used for the bridge.
Do not use spacing lacquer on the stump, since a more precise casting will allow the clinician to obtain the perfect and necessary compression of the ZX abutment on the mucosa. We remind that the exact compression on the mucosa of the ZX abutment is a necessary condition for this technique to work.
